Ocean Pieces

Art by Kaung Lin Kyi

Title: The Sea Floor
Medium: Oils
40×40 Inches

The inspiration behind this pieces comes from the multiple lifeforms that inhabit the sea floor. I am drawn to the diversity in colors of the creatures, their layered structures and their ability to exist as amorphous beings. I am also fascinated by the idea of how these multiple organisms can convey and appear as one being to human perception.

Title: Octopus in Rust
Medium: Oils
36×36 Inches

This piece is inspired by my fascination with octopus. In this piece, I wanted to capture the presence of an octopus without naturalistically illustrating it in my piece. It is almost as an abstracted octopus painting along with other ambiguous organisms present in the painting. I believe that nothing in nature is clear and perfect.
